How does Radiofrequency work to reduce fat and tighten skin?
Radiofrequency is also known as radio waves, a natural phenomenon that surrounds us. When this energy is focused into a treatment area, it heats the dermal skin layer. Higher temperature settings will cause skin tightening and lipolysis (destruction of fat cells) leading to fat reduction. When skin tightening without fat reduction is the treatment goal, lower temperature settings are established.
What equipment does Omaha Med Spa use to burn fat and tighten skin?
We offer Morpheus, Evoke and Evolve X. They will be described below.
Face and Neck: For the face and neck, you will choose between Morpheus and Evoke. Which one is right for you?
Morpheus is RF (radiofrequency) micro-needling. During this treatment to the face, neck (or both areas same day), the provider uses a handpiece to deliver a series of pulses. With each pulse, Morpheus stamps a series of needles into the dermis of the skin and releases a surge of RF energy that rapidly heats the skin to the preset temperature. Rapid heating of the skin causes discomfort for the patient, which is moderated by the use of strong numbing cream, Zimmer chilling of the skin and inhaled nitrous oxide (ProNox). During a Morpheus treatment session, hundreds of pulses are delivered. Within 2-3 weeks the patient sees the benefits, which continue to build over 3 months. The best results are seen by treating the same area three times, spaced at least one month apart. Morpheus is pictured below as the black handpiece.
Evoke uses two different applicators - one for the lower cheeks and the other for the under-chin area. During an Evoke treatment session, the provider connects the cheek or chin applicator to the face or neck, using ultrasound gel. The machine settings are based on energy, time and temperature goals based on the need for skin tightening alone, or skin tightening with fat reduction. The applicators deliver RF energy and the therapeutic temperature is acquired gradually. The patient experience is one of warming of the skin, which is not uncomfortable. Evoke runs for 30-60 minutes and then shuts off, at which time the patient is disconnected from the equipment. A series of 6 weekly visit is needed for each treatment area. Results are seen more slowly than with Morpheus, developing over 3 months.

Evolve X and Evoke are sold as a package of 6 visits/treatments to one area for a total price of $1,500. Visits are spaced one week apart
Morpheus Body Treatments are sold as single visits for $1,200 or a package of 3 treatments to the same area for $3,000. Visits are spaced one month apart

Morpheus RF Microneedling before and after
Body Areas
Common body areas for treatment are the Abdomen, Buttocks, Thighs and Upper Arms
You will choose between Morpheus body treatment, that combines the benefits of Microneedling with Radiofrequency. Benefit is seen several weeks after one treatment, and a series of three treatments to the same area, spaced one month apart, yield the best results. Morpheus is uncomfortable, but managed with numbing cream, Zimmer chiller and ProNox “laughing gas”. Downtime is redness and swelling for several days.
Evolve X uses applicators to slowly warm the skin and achieve the same result, but more slowly over time. Treatments are up to one hour long, and repeated to the same body area weekly. Downtime is limited to redness that dissipates over one hour.
Evolve X applicators: You and your provider will choose between Tite and Transform. Transform uses RF and muscle contraction. Tite is pure RF energy. Power and temperature settings align with treatment goals. If skin tightening without fat reduction is the goal, temperature settings are lower.
